Happy Thanksgiving! Since Thanksgiving is this weekend, I have done some crafts that would be perfect for the classroom. The two arts and crafts are great for all ages and can help younger kids with fine motor skills. For the first craft, I used construction paper, pipe cleaners and a paper edger set of scissors. Once I cut the pieces of paper up, I used a hole puncher and then threaded the pipe cleaner through and slowly separated the sheets of paper until I liked the look of the pumpkin. The picture below features my twin sister Nicole who wanted to be a part of my blog. The pumpkin could be a great center piece for the table during family dinner. The second craft I did was the cut out of a turkey. I used the same materials as the first one but chose to use a different pattern for the scissors. I think the kids would enjoy cutting out the leaves, but it may be difficult for them to cut the outline of the turkey free-handed. It might be a good idea to do one that they can trace and then cut out themselves. Although I did two crafts this week, I wanted to add some of the ones my kids at my work did.

As you can see, this one is similar to the one I did, but she used pastels. I also wanted to add this turkey crown hat that a few kids had made. This little girl calls her hat the Turkey Troubler. I have no idea why or how she came up with that name, but I thought it was adorable.
