This last week has been very busy so I have not had a lot of time to work on a craft. Luckily I did a few during work for the kids in my portable. Both of these are easy on prep and the kids love them.
The first one I made was for all three portables so it did take a while to prep but had my coworker help me cut everything up. We used construction paper for the whole activity. There were two shades of blue, brown, and white and a little bit of yellow, red and green. The sample was a Christmas tree in a snow globe. Although some students may not celebrate Christmas, we gave them an option for snowmen, snowflakes, penguins, or anything else that they may want to create. I had originally cut out tiny circles for the sample but knew the kids were not going to be able to do that so we got these little sequence flakes. The pack came with snowflakes, stars, circles, moons, and a few others. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of my sample so here is a similar one I found on the internet.
The second activity is these cute little stick snowmen. For this activity, we used big popsicle sticks, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, ribbons, buttons and some markers. Now for my sample, I used a hot glue gun for it to stick faster since once again I did an activity on the spot. The kids should be able to use Elmers’ glue for the googly eyes, as for the ribbon you will probably want to hot glue it at the end. I also found these adhesive buttons that we used for the activity and they worked wonders, especially for the younger kids. If you want to you can also add little pom poms on the end of the pipe cleaner. Here is the photo of my samples.
Lastly, I wanted to do one last painting myself. I knew I wanted to do one but was unsure what I was going to do. Mady gave me the idea to do two paints that connect with one another and I loved that idea so that is what I did this week! I decided to paint two penguins ice skating. Although I would not say it is one of my best ones I do think it turned out pretty cute. So here it is! Thanks Mady
