With winter rolling in, I decided to do a winter painting this week that would be great lesson! For this painting I once again used acrylic paint. This week I decided to do a step by step progress picture to see where I started and how the overall product turned out. It has been a fairly busy week and I have also just felt very drained and tired so I was only able to do one painting this week but I am planning to do a lot during reading break!
I think my favourite part of this painting is the background. I am still learning how to blend colours in a way that is not just making it one dark blob. I am quite happy with how it turned out and will definitely be trying other techniques to see which one I like best. If anyone knows a good technique let me know! Also if you have any fun craft suggestions let me know!

Hi Natasha! I absolutely love your Inquiry and also I am so impressed with how this art project turned out. I love how it is simple enough to bring into a classroom and let kids customize it, but it is also so pretty and I would totally frame this for my room. I can’t wait to keep checking in with your Inquiry, it is AWESOME!

Hi Natasha!
I love your winter painting. This painting is so simplistically beautiful. I love the way you decided to paint based on the changing of seasons. The best paintings are driven from emotion, story, and experience and this is a sweet way to incorporate that. The background of the painting is beautiful against the pure white snow and bright sun. I am so excited to see you continue on with your art!

Hey Natasha
This looks so good!! I love how you layered the background. Did you do this yourself or were you inspired by other paintings? Trees are so difficult I always find I somehow mess up the branches…… teach me your secrets!!!

Hi Cara,
I find similar paintings on Pinterest and then try my best to create it myself. I also like to try different techniques than what is used in the Pinterest painting or craft. I find trees hard as well but recently discovered the Y method. This is what I used for this painting and you basically just draw Ys small or large. I just kept adding them until I liked the look!
